In Term one Fab4 made a time capsule and burried it the Hokowhitu forrest. Well Today we finally got to dig it up!! Inside was letters we wrote to ourselves, lollies and Mr Burns (Our pet snake). It was heaps of fun and luckily everything was intact.
Today in Fab4 we had a class auction. Children have been earning money all term for good work and behaviour and today they got to spend it. All items up for sale were brought from home and it was a lot of fun!!!
Today in Fab4 we had an egg challenge. The idea was that each group had to build a contraption that would stop the egg breaking when dropped from a height. Each group had the same materials and only half were successful!! Check it out!!
Today the Tui team went for a swim instead of ‘Get Fit’. It was absolutely freezing but lots of fun!! Hopefully the weather will improve and the next swim it is warmer. Here are some photos from today! By Fab4
Today in Fab4 we had a tower challenge. Each group were given 15 sticks, a newspaper, 2 paper plates and had an hour to build the tallest tower. Check out the winners!!
Here is a cool game I found called ‘Grammar Ninja’. Give it a go, it will help you with your nouns, verbs and adjectives.
To start off today I will be talking about little businesses. By the time you read this it would have already been so… Buy as much as you can as fast as you can. Secondly reports, I know we have talked about them but… We get them tomorrow and it is just so exciting. I want to find out now what class I am in next year!. We finally are practicing our plays, I’m taking mine home and learning my words. Well I have to because I have a big part. I wonder when we will perform them?? Movie time -We are making a movie with the song called ‘Driving home for Christmas’. I can’t wait, I have the lead part! Now for my… COLUMN QUESTION!!! What is the capital of Malta? $300 to the first person to get it. Don’t forget the class auction is next week and some people could use the money. Finally there is only 5 more days of school left. I guess that means we get to dig up the time capsule next week. I hope we can find it. Speaking of the last week, the pool is now open so don’t forget to bring your togs. Summer has finally arrived!! Wow, Fab4’s Blog is up for another award!!! Yes, this time we have made it into the finals of the edublog’s best class blog award. Edublogs is a world wide Blogging platform and each year they run a competition for the best blogs from around the whole world. So we are pretty stoked to make it into the finals!!! Today the Year 5 and 6’s at Hokowhitu School were selling the products they made for little businesses. Over the last couple of weeks they have made their own businesses and created products for sale. It was a great idea and all the profits will go back into the Kakapo team funds.
It is just about the end of the year and Fab4 are letting their hair down a little bit. As a reward for all our hard work we are going to have a class Secret Santa. The idea is that each child draws a classmate out of a hat and then has to buy them a present under $5. Then on the last day of school we open them up and find out what our Secret Santa has bought us!!! Remember it is a secret and all presents must be in by next Thursday.
